Pretty In Pink…Being a Lady Does Not Mean Dull…Anne Klein NY x Jeanne Pierre VIP Preview

Have been in a bit of a daze recently (I blame the boy visiting and blinding me with his pink trousers) so I totally skipped over the invite for a series of events organised by Central Central.  I am gutted that I missed the Joan & David and EQ:IQ events but glad that my lovely blogger friend Carla mentioned the Anne Klein event.  Now I always thought Anne Klein was a little bit too “soccer mom” for me so I attended the event with a little trepidation…I am glad I went.  I love tailored pieces which can carry me through the day into the evening.  Anne Klein is full of such pieces.  I loved the flattering A-line dresses with the little cap sleeves, the peplum dress (super flattering and easy to wear) and the digital print dresses!  As you can see I have become a bit of a dress junkie – easy to wear and no matter what size you are, dresses can be super flattering.

Separates was another key theme to the preview.  Not only cute cardigans in a variety of fruity colours but cardigans with lace panels which keeps them summery.  My personal favourite was a raspberry colour and the other was a bright blue.  There was a cute white top with white lace patches on the shoulders which made it very summer appropriate and easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.  Buttery soft lace jackets in beige colours was another option to keep covered up.

Though the following leather and animal print jacket might be a bit too heavy for HK summer climes but I would definitely love to wear it with skinny black jeans in Autumn.  The slim fit makes it ultra flattering!  (Animal print remains a popular trend this year!)

Leather Jacket with Animal Print Features…

I have to admit that the leather jackets were not really suitable for the warm months of Spring/Summer but they are cute little pieces and seem beautifully made.  However, I was not completely sold on the styling this particular jacket with the white trousers…

I did have a DROOL worthy moment when the stylist Ricky paired a dress with a gorgeous black clutch with gold trim.  I was like ….OOOOOOOOOO… I am sure my mouth was open.  I found out that this clutch was from the Joan & David collection (note to oneself….must check out the store…)

At the end of the showing, Rickie answered some questions.  I asked what he would recommend for my fuller figure…nothing body con ….oops, if you saw my outfit today I was wearing a very fitted (body con) horizontal colourful striped Moschino dress…check it out on instagram …EPIC FASHION FAIL…I guess….Ooops!

Considering my Recent Outfit Choices…I obviously did not listen…SORRY!

Am looking forward to Central/Central’s future events: Karen Millen on Friday and Nine West on Saturday….In the meantime, please check out my other Anne Klein and Joan & David top picks,
