I have previously written about my drooling over this season’s rocking leather skirt from Marks & Spencer. However, to do it justice, I did need to take some pictures that were NOT in front of my letterboxes (smudgy fingerprints and distorted images IS my comfort zone) … this means the dreaded outfit post. EEEEEK!! Yes, you already know my self confessed “posing like a tool” infliction. However, looking at this lovely piece of shiny leather…I had to pull my socks up and face the fear.
Warning with any quite “attention grabbing pieces” such as this leather pale metallic skirt…try to balance it out with some simple and classic pieces. I chose a simple white silk blouse and a pair of pale pink suede and tan heels from M&S (past season so sorry!). Accessories and make up was kept to the minimum as I did not want to “bedazzle” myself otherwise I would look like a cross between a quality street wrapper or a Christmas ornament.
Also another word of warning, make sure that the skirt fits you well and it is in a shape that suits your body type otherwise too small garments might make you look like a bacofoil wrapped sausage…..not a good look (trust me – unfortunately have been there and done that…sigh).
So here we go….here are some pics.
Leather Skirt and Suede & Tan Leather Sandals (Marks & Spencer)
Cream Silk Peter Pan Collar Short Sleeved Blouse (Aalis)
If you are not of a model silhouette…keep accessories minimal for the outfit and also make sure the skirt fits well and is of quality leather otherwise you will end up looking like a bad Christmas ornament…trust me…not a good look!
Keep Accessories simple: Samantha Wills Bardot Ring, Emi & Eve Bracelet and Michael Kors Watch
A BIG thank you to Lauren Engel for her camera and for taking these pics!!
Here is where I shopped:
- Marks & Spencer shop in Central or online.
As you might not find these items in store at the moment then check out ebay for people who might be selling their past purchases. You might get a good bargain!
- Blouse from another local boutique Aalis.
- Emi & Eve bracelet from Polkadot Boutique.
- Check out the Samantha Wills website or for HK people please check out The9thMuse which is based in Central. They have a fab range of rings and bracelets which are similar to what I was wearing and they actually have some Samantha Wills in stock. There is a fantastic sale on so please check it out!
Marks & Spencer are continuously improving and I have great expectations for the F/W13 collection. From what I have seen and heard it will be fabulous!! So watch this space for my blatant and mortifying drool over the collection when it comes out!!
